WCDPWT field equipment consists of physical devices installed along the roadways (e.g. CCTV, DMS) to support traffic and transit operations and management. The field equipment also consists of adaptive traffic signals and centrally controlled traffic signals.

The communications link supports upload and download of signal timings and other parameters and reporting of current intersection status.
